As many other breeders, I started with a pet persian cat - huge, heavy boning, wonderful coat, head like an old-fasioned Maine Coon, terrible eye color. Descending from the famous British "Omicron" lines this tortie was born in 1983 and she was a carrier of chocolate and colorpoint. Most of my present cats descend from her. Needless to say that improvement was only possible by adding strong US lines. Do you imagine how difficult it was at that time to find a suitable male whose owner was willing to accept an ugly chocolate girl for breeding to his male?

Well, I was successful - "Ronlyn Yoda", "Bar-B the Wiz of Mystichill", "Midas Ziegfeld" and the "Currle-Cats" did a good job. As well did GC Int.Ch Kyetrak Royal Flush, a blue CPC girl linebred on "Misty Mornin' Conquest" and "Limeridge Love Bug", a lovely blue patched silver tabby. And last but not least GC Int.Ch Belveder's Macmillion whose Paquita/Dancecats parents did the rest.

You will notice that I only added non-chocolate US lines, the chocolate gene I got fromChocolate persian kitten the British "Omicron" and "Oxus" lines. That's why my pedigrees are a bit different... But - as all of us know, breeding with recessive genes is a long and stony way, breeding chocolates especially is a continuous surprise party.

What I was completely unsatisfied with was the eye color of many of my cats. This was the reason why I gave up breeding the solids to Himmies. I am convinced that you cannot CONSTANTLY archieve a deep copper eye color without any trace of green by mixing with blue eyed cats. Chocolate persian catAs in Germany good eye colour is very much appreciated I had to take a decision. Just for the breeders of Himmies: I do still love these adorable beauties and the decision for the solids was not easy.

Meanwhile I had added the wonderful Silvertabbies to my breeding program and nearly forgot the Chocolates ;-(( My dream of the chocolate silver tabby did not come true as I hoped for my silver tabby male to be carrier in vain. So much for the long and stony way.

Then, in 1998, the fate of PKD hit me. Three of my girls turned out to be positive and had to be spayed. It was a hard decision since two precious lines were completely lost but I feel I did it right as my aim is to breed BEAUTIFUL AND HEALTHY cats. The thought of breeding cats with kidney cysts either as pets or as breeding cats would cause sleepless nights.
Lilac and white persianIt was time to start again with the Chocolates when I was offered a lilac/white boy and a chocolate tabby/white girl some time ago - although I had never wanted to breed Bicolors. Both the cats are medium type but from colorpoint-free lines and have a gorgeous eye color.

My breeding stock now consists of three males, a visual, a carrier and a non-carrier. The five girls are one visual and four possible carriers - nice start,eh? My lilac/white boy should find out about the carriers but is not very helpful at present. So much for the long and stony way again...persian

I have always laid emphasis on the fact that my cattery is a small one, only having few litters a year. This gives me the time to look after my cats and raise the kittens very carefully. As I am very attached to my cats, the number of my dearly beloved neuters is as high as the number of my breeding cats. Which means that my way is a really long way. But it is a challenge - and what makes life more interesting than that?!

You are welcome to visit my website and hopefully enjoy having a look at my cats and kittens :-)))
